• PLEASE READ BEFORE SUBMITTING YOUR APPLICATION We do not adopt out any pets until they are spayed/neutered. That would mean we have to either keep them in foster homes until they are six months old or spay/neuter them before they even had a chance to develop. Our solution to that problem is our “Foster to Adopt” program. Foster to adopt allows the young pets to find and grow up with their forever family. It creates such a stronger bond and gives the new family the opportunity to train the young pet how they see fit. Your Responsibilities as a “Foster to Adopt” Parent You, the Adopter will be required to schedule puppies for shots at any of our approved vets. If you opt to use your own vet we will reimburse up to the negotiate fees we pay our contracted vets for the DHPP and Rabies vaccines. We have accounts with many vets, in Texas. Clinic information will be provided in an email upon request. For the long-term health of the pet, we do not spay/neuter until 6 months. Once the pet is spayed/neutered we finalize the adoption. The adoption fee of $400.00 plus service fee for puppies. Which is due before you received the puppy. You will receive a complete set of your fur-baby’s medical records once the adoption is complete. ** Your new pet will not fully vaccinated and are not allowed in ANY public places such as pet stores & dog parks, etc.... Puppies need to be held while at the vet unless they are on the exam table. These places are breeding grounds for dog diseases are not cleaned to protect your puppy. In the event you do take your puppy in public before their vaccinations are completed and they catch parvo and/or distemper, GPAT will not be responsible for the vet bills to treat them. Please be careful because the average parvo bill is $4500.00. If you live in an apartment you will need to purchase the turf-like potty training aids for your porch/balcony. These can be purchased online or at any local pet stores. Puppy’s will bark and may cause conflict with your neighbors. The rescues are the legal property of Great Pyrenees Advocates of Texas, Inc. until adoption is finalized. No breeding allowed. Do you understand the expectations of the foster to adopt program *
